Several building systems, one operational picture
Building operations combine different kinds of information. Chiller and ACMV systems have performance and efficiency signals; utilities have consumption patterns; indoor air quality has its own monitoring context. SBN brings these areas into a centralized building-management platform.
As technical lead at S3 Innovate, I worked on design, development, and deployment using C#/.NET, REST APIs, SQL Server, AngularJS, and Azure Cloud Services.
The operational questions the platform supports
- Chiller and ACMV · Where is efficiency drifting?
- Monitoring supports visibility into system performance and efficiency anomalies.
- Utilities · How is consumption changing?
- Utility-consumption monitoring provides a shared view of building usage.
- Indoor air quality · What needs attention?
- Air-quality information contributes another operational view within the same building platform.
These views serve different operational questions. Combining them is useful because building management needs context across systems, rather than a single isolated data stream.
Application responsibilities around building data
- C#/.NET and REST
- Application development and API integration connect the platform's building-data functions with its user-facing application.
- SQL Server
- The documented database technology supports the platform's data layer.
- AngularJS application
- The single-page application provides the interface for the building-management platform.
- Azure Cloud Services
- The cloud deployment is part of the delivery scope I owned as technical lead.
The public architecture view emphasizes these responsibilities and the three monitoring domains. Exact collection protocols, equipment inventory, and detection rules depend on the implementation.
My delivery contribution
- Contributed technical leadership to the design and development of the platform.
- Developed the C#/.NET application alongside the REST, SQL Server, and AngularJS stack.
- Worked on deployment of the building-management platform on Azure.
SBN demonstrates enterprise application delivery in a physical-operations domain: bringing building-system information into a shared platform for monitoring and insight. Its delivered capabilities cover chiller/ACMV monitoring, utility consumption, indoor air quality, and efficiency-anomaly visibility.
